Windham - Patricia “Pat” A. Bell, 79, passed away Tuesday December 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Bridgton, Maine on September 30th, 1938, the daughter of Freeman and Martha Howard.
Pat attended Mt. Cutler school in Hiram and graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 1957. She married her husband, Gerald A. Bell in 1960 before settling in Windham to raise their family.
She served for many years on the Windham Rescue unit, rising to the rank of captain. Continuing her passion for public service, Pat was one of the first female police officers for the town of Windham. She taught EMT classes for many years as well.
She was known for her home-cooking, family gatherings and her prized flower gardens. She enjoyed family camping trips, watching “her” birds and deer, cheering for her beloved Red Sox and, most especially, spending time with her family.
Pat imparted wisdom on her friends and family members up until her passing. Her advice and knowledge will be greatly missed.
Pat is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, infant daughter Sandra Lee, and siblings Sandra Heath and Freeman Howard II.
She is survived by her three children, Gerald Bell II & his wife Marcia of Standish, James Bell & his wife Lisa of Dayton, and Jodi Winn & her husband Cliff of Windham, as well as her seven treasured grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Emily, Caitlyn, Evan, Hailey, and Elizabeth.
