Charles E. Hobart, 81, passed away May 26, 2012 at home, in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born April 20, 1931 in Edmunds, Maine, the son of Richard Sr. and Marion (MacRae) Hobart. He graduated from Dennysville High School. He became a Maine licensed motion picture projectionist and worked at several theaters in Maine, Vermont and Boston, Mass. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army in Camp Gordon, Ga. during the Korean War. He was supervising projectionist for the Posts 7 theaters and one evening was called upon to show a movie at the Augusta National Golf Club for First Lady Mamie Eisenhower and her party. He worked in the auto parts trade for over 25 years and when he retired he was purchasing agent and inventory control clerk for an auto parts warehouse. His hobby was family genealogy. He moved to Port Charlotte in 2004 with his wife, Beryl (Howard) Hobart. He is survived by his wife of 48years, a brother, Richard Hobart, Jr. of Edmunds, Maine and his wife, Priscilla; a sister, Lucy Rae Bailey of The Villages, Florida and her husband, Alton; a daughter Holly Hobart of Saco, Maine and her companion Claude Thibeault; a son Aaron Hobart of Port Charlotte, Florida and his wife Lisa; 3 grandsons, Tyler, Jacob and Nicholas and several cousins, nephews and nieces.
