A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday 7/18/2012 at 10 AM at Highland Cemetery, Church Hill Rd., Buxton (Groveville). Arrangements are with Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home Buxton.

BUXTON- Charles H. Tyler Sr. passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer in the early morning hours of July 14, 2012. Charles, who was born on May 29, 1940 in Buxton, Maine was predeceased by his parents James Tyler and Agnes Potter, as well as three sisters: Jeanette Mains, Marie Justus and Edith O'Brien.
Surviving are his wife of fifty years Patricia, his son Charles Jr. (Jr.'s companion Crystal O'Brien and her son DJ), daughter Darleen Crosby, grandson Tyler Bruce Crosby and siblings: Doris Lambert, James Tyler and Nancy Parkey.
He served admirably for four years in the United States Navy (1958-1962) then was employed by Gorham Sheet Metal Shop for fifteen years before establishing Tyler Sheet Metal Shop Inc. which he owned and operated for twenty-four years before retiring in 2002.
He enjoyed coaching Buxton Little League and Babe Ruth, watching the Red Sox play, attending ballgames, playing golf, going to Beech Ridge. Some of his fondest memories include vacationing with Bill and Jean, visits to Florida, watching his children and grandson compete in athletics.
He will be best remembered for the care he provided for his family and HIS LAWN!
