Dr. Edward P. Suchard passed away peacefully on January 11, 2012 at the age of 95 in Saco, Maine. Ed was born in Easthampton, Massachusetts on September 23, 1916. He studied Orthodontics and Oral Surgery at Case Western Reserve in Ohio. After receiving a degree in Oral Surgery, he served his country as an Army Captain during the Korean War at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC. Following the war, he established an orthodontics practice in Akron, Ohio. For the many years of his successful practice, he lived in a beautiful home in Peninsula, Ohio with his wife Dee, whom he met and married in 1963. In the 1970's, Ed retired to Hilton Head, SC and later moved to Columbia, SC where in 1995 his wife passed away. In 2009, he moved to Cape Elizabeth, Maine to be near his nephew Karl. Ed was known for his sharp wit and sense of humor. He was a gentleman from the old school. He was an avid golfer, car collector and yachtsman. Ed had no children and is survived by his nephews Karl of Portland, Maine and Peter of Oakland, California.
