Family and friends may call 2-4PM, Tuesday, February 3, at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 13 Portland Road, Buxton with a funeral service to follow at 4PM. Spring burial at South Buxton Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Obituary:
Helen J. “Birdie” Libby, 101, formally of Scarborough, passed away January 29, 2015 at Baxter Place in Portland.
She was born November, 17, 1913 in Buxton, Maine, the daughter of George and Ethel Libby Deering.
She attended local schools and later worked at the Corn Shop. She was a homemaker and loved her farm and being a farmer’s wife. She was member of the Ladies Aid.
She enjoyed birds and was always whistling.
She is predeceased by her husband, Stephen Libby Sr., a son Stephen Libby Jr. and a granddaughter Bobbie Joe Pinder.
She is survived by a son, Roland Libby and his wife Rhoda of Scarborough, a daughter, Agnes Pinder and her husband Frank of Buxton, seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and many nephews and nieces.
