Leola Y. Hebert - age: 84

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday evening, Feb. 1, from 5-7 PM at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Rts 202 and 4A (13 Portland Rd) in Buxton (Bar Mills). Burial will be in the spring at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hollis.
BUXTON- Leola Y. Hebert, 84, passed away on Friday Jan. 27, 2012 at Springbrook Nursing Home in Westbrook.
She was born in Buxton on Nov. 7, 1927, one of twelve children of William G. and Betsy F. (Bradeen) McLeese.
She graduated from Buxton High School in the class of 1947, where she played basketball all four years.
In Nov. of 1947, she married Frank P. Hebert. She played guitar and sang in a band formed by Hank Ingalls with other local members. They played all over the area, including the Buxton Grange every Saturday night.
She was an avid Red Sox fan all of her life. For many years she went snowmobiling with her husband and family until she decided to retire. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband.
She was a founding member of the West Buxton Ladies Auxiliary and held the treasurer’s office for close to 25 years. She also bowled with them with her daughter Lillian Butterfield.
Leola and her husband would often ride to Hiram on Sundays and play baseball with the young kids.
She is predeceased by her husband Frank; a great grandchild; and ten of her siblings.
Leola is survived by her daughters- Lillian Butterfield and her husband Roy of Buxton, Judy Rowe of Saco, and Suzanne Richards of Waterboro; a sister- Floris Smith of Hollis; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Leola’s family would like to thank the staff of Springbrook Nursing Home and Beacon Hospice for their kindness and wonderful care.

I like to believe that when we lose someone close to us they still live through us and give us strength. The time we have spent with those we've lost makes them part of us.
I will never forget the fond memories of both Aunt Leola and Uncle Frank.

I am so sorry about Aunt Leola,I always enjoyed taking her flowers and visiting as often as I could. I wish I could have spent more time with her,but a lot of things made that diffucult.Lillian,Judy and Suzanne just know i really thought the world of her and I feel your pain. Memories are our best friend right now. Love Dot

She Soars with the wind! she sits on the clouds! and smiles with the sun! and sleeps with the stars! her pains all gone all she feels is happiness and warmth now! wish i would have known her she seems like she was a wonderful person
