Obituary:
Lynnette Gail Barnes (73) passed away peacefully in her home in Old Orchard Beach, Maine on January 1, 2020 after a recent battle with cancer. She was born in Waterville, Maine on August 30, 1946 to Linwood and Emma (White) Barnes.
Lynnette was a lifelong learner and caregiver. She graduated from Foxcroft Academy, the University of Maine, and ultimately earned her Master of Divinity from the Bangor Theological Seminary. She gave her time, love, and energy to a variety of endeavors throughout her life including artwork, writing, and nurturing her grandchildren. Her relationships with her parishioners were incredibly meaningful to her over the years; she served as a minister for churches in Amherst, Aurora, Eddington, and Lubec, Maine; and Plainville, New York. She also served as a chaplain in Bangor (EMMC), New York State (DOC), and FL in various capacities. Lynnette was married and divorced twice, first to David Thomas then to Richard Saunders. She is survived by her mother, six brothers and sisters, four children, seven grandchildren, a grand dog or two, and many nieces and nephews.
