Obituary:
Nancy Scott, 76, died peacefully in residential care at South Ridge on December 14th, 2022. She was born in Portland on January 3rd, 1947, the daughter of the late Barbara (Hammond) Nutter and Robert Nutter. Nancy was raised in Portland and spent a great deal of time in Sanford and at camp on Mousam lake with her grandparents. She graduated from Deering High School, class of 65. After graduation, she attended college at Chandlers School for Women, in Boston. When she returned home she married high school classmate, Robert Scott. They settled in Saco where they built their first home. Nancy held various jobs over the years, most notably at Bank of America, the Saco Superindance Office, and the Department of Human Services. One thing that never changed is her ability to type a mile per minute, she was known for her excellent secretarial skills. Nancy loved to make everyone around her laugh, she always had a smile on her face.
Nancy has been in the care of the Southridge Rehabilitation and Rehab Center for the past 15 years, we are beyond thankful for the amazing team there who have cared for her over the years. We’d also like to say thank you to the wonderful staff at Beacon Hospice Care, they were extremely helpful in the last few months to help make sure she was comfortable.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her stepmother, Mary Nutter, her sisters, Constance D’entremont, Terry Nutter, and Cindy Golden, her Brother-in-law Mark Golden, nephew, Robert Nutter and Ex-Husband, Robert Scott. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Sarah Scott, her future son-in-law, Ken Johnson, granddaughter, Mila Johnson, her brothers Robert Nutter, and Billy Nutter and sister-in-law Cheryl Nutter as well as many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
