Kevin Schomisch Kevin Michael Schomisch - age: 64
(August 30, 1958 to June 20, 2023 )
Resident of Biddeford, Maine

Obituary:
Kevin Michael Schomisch was born on Aug 30, 1958 in Los Angeles, California to Jerome and Laurie Schomisch, and died too young in Biddeford, Maine on June 20, 2023. Kevin grew up happily in LA, along with his siblings, attending Immaculate Heart of Mary School and spending time playing sports both at school and on Kenmore Avenue, hiking in the hills above the Griffith Park Observatory, enjoying Santa Monica and Zuma beaches, and being a good friend to many as well as a loyal brother to Chris, Mary and Steven. In the early 1970’s, the family relocated to Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where Kevin was a star athlete at Chagrin Falls High School (class of 1976), receiving many accolades for his performance in the high jump, where he held the school record for years, but also being a star member of the football and basketball teams. Kevin later lived in Shaker Heights and South Euclid, Ohio, working in furniture sales, security doors and windows, and home repair. Kevin moved his family to Maine in 2000 and has lived there since. Kevin is survived by siblings Christine Schomisch Moravec (Carl), Mary Shafer (Jeff) and Steven Schomisch (Joyce), as well as step-brother David Duffield (Kate). Kevin also leaves his two ex-wives, Debbie Oatess and Lisa Criado, children Michael Schomisch (Erin), David Schomisch (Breanne), Gina Criado and Jerome Criado, and grandchildren Michael, Michaela, Madison, Charlotte and Aiden Schomisch, along with nieces and nephews, friends and co-workers. Kevin ran his own company in Biddeford, Maine, “Kevin the Handyman” and was well liked and respected by his employees and customers. Kevin’s loss leaves a hole in our hearts, but we are grateful that the family was able to spend time together in 2022 at Disneyland and at Christmas 2022 and April 2023 in Cleveland. We treasure the memories and the photos. If you knew Kevin and want to remember him, do something nice for someone. Kev was always the first to step up and offer to help in any situation. Rest in peace, Kev. A memorial service will take place in August in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
