Saco - Susan S. Skaggs, 64, of Ocean Park Rd, passed away Saturday July 8, 2023 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

She was born in Biddeford on April 6, 1959 the daughter of Malcolm Sr. and Evelyn Bubier Stackpole.

Susan attended local Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1977. She then graduated from Hussen University in 1979 with an Accounting Degree and later with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration.

She was employed as a bookkeeper by Portland Builders.

She enjoyed the beach, her cats, traveling with friends and going to Broadway shows.

Susanís true passion was baton twirling and, as a member of the original Saco Jets, she was involved for many years as a coach, judge and mentor. She was an active member and officer of the Maine, Northeast Regional and U. S. Twirling Associations.

She is predeceased by her parents and her husband Timothy.

Survivors include a brother Butch Stackpole (Marlene) of Omaha, NE, a sister Linda LuCante (Jerry) of Panama City, FL, 9 nieces and nephews: Tasha, Chris, Holly, Nikki, Michael, Jeffrey, Katie, Lisa and Danny, and several great nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her warm smile and dedication to the development of the physical and emotional well-being of hundreds of young athletes. Countless students credit her with the positive influence she had on their lives.
A celebration of Susanís life will be announced.

Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral home 365 Main St, Saco are entrusted with her services.
