(July 31, 1943 to August 11, 2023 )
Resident of Yarmouth, Maine

Obituary:
Elaine Marie Reynolds, who was more affectionately known as Laney, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her daughter by her side. Born in Rochester, NY, Laney was loved by anyone lucky enough to meet her.

She cared deeply for her family and friends, and she loved like no other. Those close to her admired her passions, strength, and perseverance. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her family, painting, dancing and singing, knitting and sewing, Reiki, and was very connected to her Irish heritage. When asked what she was most proud of, Laney always listed her family members but also that she was able to obtain her high school diploma at the age of 70!

Laney is survived by her children, whom she referred to as her “three loves”-Michael DeMay and partner, Patty of Rush, NY; Maureen Thibeau and husband Dave of Biddeford, ME; and Mark DeMay and wife Darla of OK. She is also survived by her baby sister, Michelle Reynolds of Marion, NY.

Laney leaves behind many beloved grandchildren-Sarah Muhl and husband Jeff of Alfred, ME; Kayla Thibeau and wife Alysia of Biddeford, ME; Derrick Bottum and wife Nicole of Limerick, ME; DJ Thibeau and wife Raychel of Skowhegan, ME; Patrick DeMay and wife Nikki of Penfield, NY; Tyler DeMay of Buffalo, NY; Zachary DeMay of East Rochester, NY; and Lincoln Taylor and wife Jenni of Mustang, OK.

Laney was also very proud of and deeply loved her great grandchildren - “her twins” Silas and Gabriel Thibeau; Kevin Muhl; Dallan, Abby, and Zoey Bottum; Henry and Benjamin DeMay; Graycen and Kallie Taylor; and Rhyatt and Dixie Harris. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.

Laney is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Caroline Reynolds, brother Dick Reynolds, and sister, Judy Ruff. We know that she has rejoined these loved ones and is watching over us all!

In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME. The staff at the Gosnell House was instrumental in providing Laney with the comfort and care she so deserved in her last days and did so with such genuine compassion.
