Visitation Information:
A visiting hour will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 11-noon at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco followed by a memorial service at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Storey officiating. A procession will follow to Laurel Hill Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband Joe.

Obituary:
Saco - Margaret “Peggy" Ann Moore Thayer Bourque passed away October 12, 2023 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born on September 20, 1938 in Somerville, MA, the eldest daughter of Capt. Donald William Moore (USMM) and Margaret Emma Hodder. She resided in Watertown, Massachusetts, Saco, Kittery (where she attended local schools), Old Orchard Beach, Arundel, and Waterboro, Maine.
She graduated from Nasson College in Springvale and took various Adult Education Classes, (computer at Biddeford Adult Ed and Arts/Painting at Sanford, to name a few).
Peggy set up and ran Thornton Academy's first hot lunch program. She worked in the Assessors and Inspection offices at Saco City Hall. Peggy was a certified Ceramic teacher, who owned and operated Hickory Knoll Ceramics and Gifts. She was a Skincare Specialist for Borghese Beauty and Clarins cosmetics at Filenes and worked at many retail, research, and secretarial jobs, (including all bookwork for Arundel Electric Service). She was also a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts in Arundel. She enjoyed history and the arts, traveling and spending time with her family. She always made time for everyone and made them all feel special, making jewelry, ornaments, paintings with special meanings, sending cards with stamps selected especially for them as well as a sticker or two, with her signature; Tender Thoughts.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Joseph Bourque, Sr. on June 10, 2023.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Collin and her husband Jerry, a son David J. Thayer and his wife Irma, stepdaughters, Linda Barter and her husband Warren, Judith Brooks, another stepdaughter and several stepsons, many grandchildren, step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild, a sister, Marjorie Sanborn, two nephews, many cousins and many close friends.
