Obituary:
It is with heavy hearts we announce that Mark J. Hazard, 64, of Waterboro passed away peacefully on Friday October 20, 2023 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born December 5, 1958 in Hartford, CT., the son of Roland and Eleanor Ransom Hazard.
Mark attended local schools in Connecticut and graduated from Oliver Welcott Technical High School in Torrington, CT.
Mark was a hardworking man who loved working with his hands. He was the go to guy for anything involving cars. He was employed at various garages in Connecticut before moving to Maine in early 1980’s.
Mark was a Master Technician, first at Volkswagen and then at Maine Mall Motors
(Berlin City). He took special pride in good, honest work.

Mark had many successes in life, above all else, he was a dedicated family man. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with loved ones. He treasured his dog Moose. He will be remembered as the best Papa ever. Always laughing while his grandkids used him as a human jungle gym. He was a gentle, caring man.

Mark would strike up a conversation with anyone who crossed his path. He was a friend to all. Everyone will miss his story telling abilities and his smile. He filled his free time with hobbies, including motorcycles and ATVs and tinkering in the garage. He had a passion for woodworking and making gifts for family and friends.

Mark is predeceased by a son Kyle Hazard.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Eleanor Hazard of Hartford, CT., 2 sisters Jane and Jennifer Hazard of CT, 2 sons Craig Hazard of Waterboro and wife Tanya and Scott Hazard of Waterboro and wife Nicole. Mark took much joy in his 6 grandchildren Mathu, Aubrey, Carter, Eleanor, Maverick and Dutch. Mark also leaves behind many extended family and friends.

Mark was a remarkable man whose legacy will live on in all those who loved him. We will always remember his kindness, generosity, strength and wisdom. We are grateful to have loved him.
